Bee Sweet!

Do we need the nectar of God’s Word as much as bees seek the nectar of flowers? Bees are relentless in their pursuit of collecting nectar as they could visit between 50 and 200 flowers to fill their stomachs for a meal. Nectar provides them with the energy that carbohydrates give. With each landing, pollen (protein) sticks to their legs which is necessary for pollination.

As believers, do we search the Scriptures like the bees do going from flower to flower seeking nectar? Do we read God’s Words until our hearts are full or do we simply land on a verse now and then? Are we truly nourishing our souls? Assuredly, there are times and seasons that call for quick appetizers of the Bread of Life, yet regular, full meals are necessary to strengthen and sustain our souls through the scarcities of our lives.

The more we dig into God’s Words with the help of the Holy Spirit, the more “pollen” will stick to us. As we interact with people, it will be evident that we have been with Jesus if we have . A preacher of old said, “Keep in touch with Jesus; He will keep you sweet.”

Is it worth the time it takes to forage God’s Word? Yes! Is it work? Yes! To “bee” sweet and to share the sweetness of Christ with others we are around, we need to “bee”relentlessly seeking the nectar God has given us in His Word.

“How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” ~ Psalm 119:103 KJV
“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” ~ Psalm 34:8 KJV

Let us “bee” intentionally filling our own hearts with the sweetness found in the Bible so that we can “bee” sweet Christians who share truth with the honey of Christlikeness.
