Before We Ask, Our Father Knows

God gave us a beautiful sky all the way to church tonight!

As a child comes to a mother holding up his “sippee” cup, the mother knows immediately that her child is thirsty. When we go to God, He knows we’re thirsty before we even hold up our empty cup.

As a mother gladly fills the “sippee” cup for her thirsty child over and over again throughout childhood, so our Heavenly Father gladly refreshes His children who come to Him in thirst.

He knows our need and delights in our coming to Him. We need not a human priest to reach Him nor man-made clichés to chant; we need a heart turned to Him with an open ear - a personal conversation with our Father Who cares for us.

“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.” - Matthew 6:7-8
