The books of Ezekiel and Daniel brought me to seventy-one percent of completing this Bible Reading Challenge. Throughout the book of Ezekiel, the theme seemed to be that God does things in order that “ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD.” (13:9) He cannot bless unrighteousness, and He must judge unrighteousness. He is no respecter of persons or countries. The book of Daniel reminded me of the person of Daniel, the purpose He had within his heart, and the position of service in helping the king.
His person: “Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand i the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.” – Daniel 1:4
His purpose: “But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.” – Daniel 1:8
His position: “Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to get him over the whole realm.” – Daniel 6:3
