God’s Beauty in Life and Death

Writer: Jeri LynnJeri Lynn
“IN ALL GOD'S WORKS the laws of beauty are wrought out in vanishing portrayals, in birth and death. In these there is no hoarding, but an everfresh creating, and eternal flow of life from the heart of God.” - George MacDonald

This blossom made the news in our house this week. Last year, my husband brought home two peach trees to plant in our backyard. They had green leaves on them, and looked hopeful.

Through our few harsh days of winter, I had doubts these trees would survive. There were only brown branches.

This week, one of my sons showed me a picture of blossoms on these trees! Today with welcomed sunshine, I went to see up close for myself. Sure enough, peach buds and blossoms are on both trees!

  • Without death to the leaves, there would be no new life.

  • Without the death of Jesus Christ for our sin, there would be no resurrection of new life eternal.

  • Without the death of sin in our lives as believers, there is no abundant life of freedom to blossom into who God created us to be.

God gives us the beauty of hope through both life and death.

"The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. All thy works shall praise thee, O Lord ; and thy saints shall bless thee." - Psalm145:9-10 KJV
