Proverbs 12:3 “A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.”

wickedness – Departure from the rules of the divine law; evil disposition or practices; immorality; crime; sin; sinfulness; corrupt manners Wickedness generally signifies evil practices. (Websters 1828 Dictionary)

righteous – 1. Just; accordant to the divine law. Applied to persons, it denotes one who is holy in heart, and observant of the divine commands in practice; as a righteous man. 2. Just; equitable; merited. (Websters 1828 Dictionary)

How desirable are the words in the above definition of established. As a Christian, my faith is rooted in Christ. He will never leave me or forsake me. In Him is found sole security. In Christ, my hope is sure, and my heart can be steadfast. Though circumstances may rattle all around, a trusting heart is settled in Immanuel ~ “God with us.”

Psalm 5:12 “For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.”

Proverbs 4:18 “But the path of the just as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.”

I Peter 5:10 “But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”
