LORD, send rain from Heaven
Into the garden of my heart
By gentle shower or heavy flood,
Water every dry, scorched part.
Decrease my selfish desires
Increase my desire for Thee.
Fill me with Thy Holy Spirit
That Thy beauty others see.
No raincoat of performance
Or umbrella of good deeds
Can substitute for the power
Of deeply rooted Truth seeds:
Seeds planted in fertile soil
Covered tenderly with Love
By the Maker of my human heart
Who can send rain from Above.
