The Tree of Life

Updated: Dec 22, 2022

These beautiful fall trees remind me of the verse,

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise." Proverbs 11:30

•

The fruit of the righteous grows from the heart of the righteous. What is in the heart is what grows. What grows is what comes out of the mouth. There is a definite connection between the heart and the mouth.

•

Proverbs 23:7 confirms this truth. "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he..."

•

No soul is won by words of death without hope. If we are committed to giving words of life to those without, how much more should we be committed to giving words of life to fellow believers!

•

No believer is encouraged to grow in the Lord by continual condemnation.

•

No relationship is built by destructive words - public or private.

✔ WORD CHECK.

How are your words affecting people? Giving life or death?

✔ THOUGHT CHECK.

What kind of fruit are you sharing from your heart - healthy or poisonous?

✔ FRUIT CHECK.

How's the fruit of your life looking? How are people affected by the influence of your fruit? Is their experience dry, brown and withered or rich, colorful, and hopeful?

Proverbs 15:28 KJV

"The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things."

•

"Godly, righteous people weigh their answers; those who are wicked don’t think before speaking because they don’t care about the effects of their words. When you have something to say, think about it first. Do you carefully plan your words, or do you pour out your thoughts without concern for their impact?" - The Life Application Study Bible

Proverbs 18:21 KJV

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."
