Labour of Love

Your Work and Labour of Love

Heb 6.10
" For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister." – Hebrews 6:10

This particular verse is speaking of ministering to the saints – to fellow believers. In my church family, I have observed the work and labour of love of several ladies recently. Each lady has her own ministry gifts to share and her own style of sharing her gifts. How beautiful is the bride ~ the church ~ when she ministers in the ways God has gifted her to do so – doing her own part. There is no cause for one to envy the gift of another or the opportunity of another, for one's own gift is the best gift – fitted for the Master's use. What a joy when the church body works together and ministers to each other!

Consider what ways God has gifted you with to serve Him and fellow believers? He does not give us all the same gifts or the same opportunities. We are "fearfully and wonderfully made" by Him.

"I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well." -Psalm 139:14

Even when your ministry of the moment is not visible to others or noticed, God sees. He sees the smile you gave a discouraged soul. He sees the note you mailed. He sees the counter you wiped off. He sees the special touch you put into your family meal. He sees your menial efforts when you did not have the strength. He sees your endless preparations for a meeting. He sees the work it takes to buy supplies. He sees all the pots and pans, and He loves those dishwashing hands. He sees you practically helping a young mother. He sees you recognizing the loneliness of a widow. He sees you praying though no one else knows. He sees the works of your hands. He sees you prepare a meal for a sick one. He sees your thoughtful gift. He sees your heart. He made your heart. Ladies, confidently continue to minister to the saints, showing the love of Jesus Christ!

Would you like to comment about how some lady has ministered to you? It may help to show other ladies new ways they can minister!
