In my youth, I was encouraged to choose a "life verse" from God's Word. There are so many beautiful Words from the LORD that I could have chosen, but these WORDS in Psalm 28:7 continue to resonate in my heart. Why? Because without the LORD, I am nothing. Without Him, I am lost. Without Him, I have no strength. Without Him, I cannot fight off the darts that our sinful nature brings into life. In the moments that I truly trust Him with my life, my circumstances, my questions, I am helped.
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD which made heaven and earth." -Psalm 121:1-2
When I recognize His help, how can I not rejoice that I have a loving, living Savior. He took my death sentence by dying for me on the Cross, therefore saving me from spending eternity in hell where I deserve to go. He lives in me. He is with me. He is for me. He directs my steps. He comforts me. He is my Friend. He loves me. He gave me a beautiful gift – a love for beautiful music. How can I not praise HIM with my song after all He's done for me?
